Mandel-vann bakkel
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour (for Part I)
- 1/2 cup butter (for Part I)
- 2 Tbsp water (for Part I)
- 1 cup water (for Part II)
- 1/2 cup butter (for Part II)
- 1 cup flour (for Part II)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla (for Part II)
- 1/2 tsp almond extract (for Part II)
- 3 eggs (for Part II)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 Tbsp butter (for frosting)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla (for frosting)
- 1/4 tsp almond extract (for frosting)
- hot water (small amount for frosting)
Instructions
- Mix flour, butter and water as for pie crust. Pat thin on a cookie sheet in two 12 x 4 inch strips or pat into a round circle on a pizza pan leaving the center open.
- Using Part II ingredients, bring to a boil water and butter. Then add all at once the flour. Stir until smooth.
- Add flavorings. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each.
- Spread over pastry mixture and bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Be sure to bake it long enough.
- Frost with powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and almond extract. Add a small amount of hot water and beat until spreading consistency.
