Dutch Style Green Beans
Ingredients
- 3 strips bacon
- 1 med. onion
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 can cut green beans
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
Instructions
- Fry bacon until crisp, remove and crumble.
- Drain off all but 1 tablespoon fat, add chopped onion and brown lightly.
- Stir in cornstarch, salt and mustard.
- Drain beans, reserving 1/2 cup liquid. Add reserved liquid to above ingredients and bring to a boil until slightly thickened.
- Blend in brown sugar and vinegar, add drained beans and heat.
- Put into serving dish and top with crumbled bacon.
- Recipe may easily be doubled.
