Sweet Soup
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pearl tapioca
- 6 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 1/2 cups pitted prunes
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 stick cinnamon (optional)
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 6oz can frozen grape juice
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Soak tapioca in 5 cups water overnight or four hours.
- Cook in double boiler 3 hours until clear.
- In separate saucepan, cook prunes, raisins and stick cinnamon in 1 1/2 cups water for 20 minutes. Set aside.
- When tapioca is almost clear, combine with cooked raisins and prunes.
- Add juice, sugar, salt and lemon juice.
- Let stand at least 1/2 hour and cool to warm.
- Remove stick cinnamon before serving.
