Flat Bread
Ingredients
- 4 cups white flour
- 1 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cups melted shortening or bacon grease
- 3 cups boiling water
Instructions
- Stir together white flour, whole-wheat flour, cornmeal, and sugar.
- Make a well in the middle and add melted shortening or bacon grease and boiling water.
- Mix until well combined. You can start making it as soon as cool enough to handle.
- Use 1/4 cup dough for each.
- Roll like lefse and bake on lefse griddle or on cookie sheets in oven.
- Watch carefully as they burn easily!
